Emancer
is an experimental, yet cold black metal band consisting of two guys
out of the western regions of Norway. It would sound as if there are
more musicians than there actually are, however they've had much practice
since this is their 3rd offering to the world. "Invisible"
is a quite nonchalant recording, but a very distinct and promising
one in the long run I think. Exploring the depths of their black metal
roots, Emancer also display a plethora of metal styles: thrash, prog,
death, dark... along with many technical time signatures and solos
throughout! They have definitely retained that raw, cold black metal
feel-- they've just strengthened their musical horizons a bit. I find
them comparable to such bands as Mayhem, Bathory, Enslaved, Darkthrone,
Burzum, and early-Dimmu Borgir to name the ones off the top of my
head. Mithrin and Gorbag (Emancer) have a high place of their own
among the Norwegian elite! This stuff is quite supreme!!
