Endstille - Endstilles Reich (Regain Records) - Back
German black metal Endstille has but out several releases over the last 6 or 7 years culminating to what they have today in their new CD “Endstilles Reich.” However these guys are not your typical blackened music.

Endstille has put out an album with aggressive and depressive tones with tons of speed and volatility. “Endstilles Reich “ has an old school element to the sound, but a modernized version, as it isn’t overly raw; at least not enough to distract the listener.

This album is mostly fast paced but it does vary some. Excruciatingly violent screamed black metal vocals are at the helm. Blasting drum beats like a 50 cal being unleashed on their foes. A few groove driven black metal riffs are mixed in with the extremely speedy ones. There also seems to be somewhat of a unique blend of high and lower pitch guitar notes, which keep things interesting, though a larger selection of riffs would increase the bands appeal. A few parts were a little repetitive, as those riffs/parts are relatively similar to others.

The 10 tunes nearly 49 minutes have mostly a solid approach, thought nothing really all that impressive, or grabs you enough to pull you in that much. A bit of a drone feeling through the tracks could be why. It kind of puts you in a daze and makes you feel drained after listening to the whole disc in one sitting. For fans of Marduk, Dark Funeral, Bathory, and Dark Throne.
