Nonpoint - Statement (MCA Records) - Back
Within the last five to eight years Nu Metal has come around, and apparently gonna stay for a little while as well. If you wondering what Nu Metal is, it is any band that sounds like Korn, Disturbed, Sevendust, etc. Nonpoint is another one of these "Nu" type bands. It's hard to impress me with this type of music since a good amount of it sounds to alike. Nonpoint, in my opinion is on both sides of this topic. They don't really have anything new to offer, but they also aren't total crap. This CD, "Statement," has some good riffs, every so often, leaving some redeemable qualities. But their songs don't really jump out at you. A few tracks that I thought were decent include "Victim," "Back Up," and the tracks probably with the most balls on this CD, "Orgullo" and "Hive." "Hive," I think is a good, solid metal song. There are twelve tracks on this CD, and I'm sure the fans of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Disturbed would get a kick out of it, but overall it's not really my cup of tea.
