Rigor Sardonicous - Apocalypsis Damnare (Paragon Records) - Back
Man, talk about a Halloween disc! I could scare the bageebeez outta the trick-or-treaters with this band called Rigor Sardonicous. Trying to listen to this without having interest in either the occult or extreme horror movies, please take your troubles and complaints elsewhere! This "Apocalypsis Damnare" is actually the band’s 2nd release from 1999, but has been re-recorded and re-issued for restored quality. The new sound certainly uphold's what atmosphere there was on the original with little to chuckle about herein. These vocals are one of the deepest, guttural, Funeral-dirge style vocals I've heard since years past via.. Thergothon. To those unfamiliar with this band, Rigor Sardonicous are in no way an aggressive one. They are just flat-out raw, slow Funeral Doom Metal. If you like bands like Thergothon, Skepticism, or even Evoken, you will be pleased. Speaking of which, joining the two original members of the band on bass is ex-Evoken's Steve Moran. Added incentive? Probably not, I just thought I'd humor you because you won't find anything happy here.
