Soulless - The Darkening Of Days (Independent) - Back
Soulless, a band native to Cleveland, Ohio, formed in late 1997. The band is made up of many member from Cleveland's massive number of underground bands. So the majority of these members have a lot of experience playing in groups. Their music is very tightly composed, which is very good for an unsigned band. The sound is a cross of thrash and death metal, it's a very good combination, very aggressive in every way. If you interested in catchy riffing and drumming styles, this is a band for you. I believe they have an original sound because no bands sound similar to them off the top of my mind. But to describe them I would say that they are a combination between bands like In Flames, The Haunted, Sodom and Unleashed. They have opened up for bands like Malevolent Creation, Incantation, and Dark Moon, and many local shows as well. They like getting out there and playing for audiences. My favorite songs on this CD include "Devilish," "Abandoned To Bleed," "Lost," and probably my favorite track, which is also the title track, "The Darkening Of Days." The CD last for nearly 35 minutes and contains 10 songs for you to thrash about and get your anger out. If you get a chance to see this band, do so, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
