Temple Of Brutality - Lethal Agenda (Demolition Records) - Back
Temple of Brutality was formed only a few years ago in 2004, and was the invention of guitarist Peter Scheithauer. Rounding out the lineup are Todd Barnes on vocals, Stet Howland on drums, and Dave Ellefson (F5, ex-Megadeth) on bass. What they have created on their new disc “Lethal Agenda” is old-school, groove and speed-driven thrash with today’s modern crunch. This disc bleeds 80’s metal. You may encounter parts on this disc that remind you of Sepultura, Pantera, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth. But overall they remind me somewhat of Propain. The vocals are yelling, grimacing thrash type. Many of the guitar riffs are groove or speed-driven thrash, which will get you right into the tracks. There are solos that are added at appropriate times, and are usually pretty good. The drums are more than adequate, with nice combos and fills. And as usual Dave’s bass ties all elements in the band together while adding a bit more heaviness to the mix. Favorite tracks of mine include “Doesn’t Matter” and “Isabel.” “Hammer” and “Art of War” are pretty good as well. “Lethal Agenda” is just that, and should be on your next list for deadly attacks. Thrash fans rise, this is your new found religion, Temple of Brutality!
