The Tenth Circle - Of War And Reflection (Bled Out Records) - Back
Watch out…The Tenth Circle have created a monster! Hailing from Lancaster, PA originally they started in 2001 under a different name (Cirrhosis). I believe this is their first full-length…it’s quite impressive. Parts remind me of Morbid Angel, Immolation, Goatwhore, or Monstrosity; mostly death metal oriented then anything else but maybe influences like Lamb of God too. This disc grew on me. The more I listened, the more I liked it. Lots of appealing heavy riffs, technical drumming and growling vocals. Catchy riffs pull you into these songs. The drumming is mind-blowing! It has so much speed and for good reason! Tim Yeung who has provided drumming for Hate Eternal, Vital Remains, Aurora Borealis, Decrepit Birth, Council Of The Fallen and Hank Williams III, drums for The Tenth Circle. Not only is there expertise in the band, but also there was quite a collection of talent put together to create this disc. It was engineered/produced by Eric Rachel, which you might know from his work with Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus, Skinless, Vital Remains, and Testament. The preproduction mixing was done with engineer Erin Farley who has worked with All Out War, Sick of it All, Overkill, M.O.D., etc. And Alan Douches who has worked with Sepultura, Mastodon, Superjoint Ritual, Unearth, etc. did the finishing touches. A very well rounded disc, I can’t wait for more!
