  • Cover art for LACUNA COIL's New Album Karmacode Now Available
The anticipation surrounding the release of the much anticipated new LACUNA COIL album, Karmacode, continues to build leading up to it's imminent release on April 4th.  Click the following link to view the album's striking cover art.
Asterik Studio (Trapt, Funeral For A Friend, The Used), the Grammy-nominated design firm, handled the package design and layout. Their objective was to create a world that would reflect the album's theme and title. Andrea Ferro (vocals) describes the meaning behind the album's unique title: "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual translation of Karmacode it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and the message behind it.' The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming, self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."
Karmacode begins where the critically acclaimed Comalies album left off, and the album will further solidify their spot as one of the genre's most dynamic and exhilarating artists.

  • Band manager to admit club fire deaths Plea deal includes 10-year sentence

The former manager of the heavy metal rock group Great White has agreed to plead guilty to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter stemming from a deadly 2003 nightclub fire, a judge said Tuesday. Daniel Biechele will enter the plea next week and serve no more than 10 years in prison under the deal with prosecutors, Superior Court Judge

Francis Darigan said. Biechele was charged with 200 counts of involuntary manslaughter for starting the blaze when he ignited pyrotechnics during a Great White performance at The Station nightclub in West Warwick. He had pleaded innocent. Sparks from the pyrotechnics ignited highly flammable foam lining the club's walls and ceiling, creating a fast-moving blaze that also injured more than 200 people in the fourth-deadliest nightclub fire in the country's history. Brothers Jeffrey and Michael Derderian, who owned the club, also were charged with 200 counts each of involuntary manslaughter. They are accused  of installing the flammable soundproofing foam in violation of the state fire code. They have pleaded not guilty. Biechele has said through his lawyer that he had permission to light the pyrotechnics during the February 20, 2003, concert, but the Derderians have disputed that claim.

The three defendants were charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter for each of the 100 people killed. One count per death alleged criminal negligence, the other accused the defendants of committing underlying offenses that led to the deaths.

  • DIMMU BORGIR Surpass 100,000 SoundScans - The first band on the Nuclear Blast USA roster to do so!
DIMMU BORGIR crushed many metal Black Metal standards with their highly successful Death Cult Armageddon, released on September 9th, 2003, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at number 169, received multiple Best Metal Album of the Year accolades and had two songs featured in the trailer for the highly successful Hellboy movie. Their video for Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse was voted the 4th BEST METAL OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM by fans (nominated by HEADBANGERS BALL and REVOLVER) while also being the first Black Metal band invited to perform on the main stage at OZZfest.
Now DIMMU BORGIR are crushing another standard by officially selling over 100,000 units of Death Cult Armageddon in the United States.

Scanning 101,418 units to date, Nuclear Blast USA is honored to have participated in such a successful and creative album such as Death Cult Armageddon.
As an interlude between Death Cult Armageddon and the forthcoming album (which will be released in late 2006), DIMMU BORGIR decided to re-release their second album Stormblast. But it turned out not to be an effortless re-release. The band fully re-recorded the album for this occasion! With Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy) back at the helm as producer and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums (Nick Barker departed in January 2005), the band sought to enhance a pristine dimension to the album and they have undeniably done so! The re-recorded edition of Stormbl?st is far more forceful and ominous than the original.

An unrivalled Black Metal masterpiece and a vital listen for every fan of the band!
Stormblast hits the streets on February 7th, 2006

  • Reunion With Max Possible?

In a recent interview with MTV News, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser said he's heard all the rumors about SEPULTURA reuniting with founding member and current SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera for a spot on this summer's Ozzfest. He's even heard the one that involves the band's "plans" to perform three different sets from the main stage - one featuring SOULFLY material, a second of just "Roots" and "Chaos A.D." tracks, and the last consisting of songs off the band's upcoming CD, "Dante XXI". But at this point he said they're nothing more than rumors, period.

"Nothing is really set," he told MTV News. "We need to go on tour with this new album, but nothing's set. There's a lot of talking going on, but nothing's being done as far as I know. A lot of people are working for these things to happen, but so far nothing's going on. People are excited to hear that there's a possibility for us to get back [together], and it would be cool to play with Max again, to jam together. It would be great and it's cool to see that everyone thinks it's a good idea. The way I see it is, if you do this shit, we're only going to do stuff that we recorded up to 'Roots' and hopefully maximize - do a DVD or something. I haven't talked to Max [about a reunion]. So far it's just really rumors - which is a start."

With regards to his upcoming solo album, Kisser said, "I've been working on it for the past three years," he said. "It will be a double album - the first [disc] will be related to the electric guitar, with different musicians, and the second will be acoustic. I'm taking my time with it, and it should be out by the end of this year, [although] nothing's set. It won't be a masturbation guitar album; it will explore different tones, different guitars and different instrumentation."

Finland's FINNTROLL have issued a statement regarding their recent split with frontman Tapio Wilska (SETHIAN, ex-WIZZARD, former session vocalist for NIGHTWISH). The statement reads as follows:

"We have reached a situation in which we find it impossible to continue FINNTROLL with our singer Wilska. This decision was very hard to make, but after long talks and deep conversations we finally came to the conclusion that if we were to continue FINNTROLL, we had to let Wilska go.

"We thank Wilska for the past three years.

"FINNTROLL is now actively searching for a new singer, and will continue working on a new album which should come out by the end of 2006. Although FINNTROLL does not have a permanent singer in its ranks at the moment, we will not let this affect our already scheduled performances."

FINNTROLL recently completed a short North American tour with German thrashers SODOM. The band are scheduled to take part in the No Mercy Festivals 2006 European tour beginning in early April (along with CANNIBAL CORPSE, KATAKLYSM and LEGION OF THE DAMNED).

We are VERY PLEASED to announce that we have now reached an agreement with german label Massacre Records (www.massacre-records.de) and that you can expect a release of our new studio album "Enter the Gate" on April 21st. We also worked with Massacre for the release of our Live-DVD in 2004 and we are very excited about stepping into the future together with them. As earlier mentioned "Enter The Gate" will be released in Japan through ATTIC ARCADE/GENCROSS on the 23rd of March - 2006. Our working-relationship with Nuclear Blast ended after 8 years and 4 studio albums. Our Thanks and Goodbye's goes to Markus Staiger and his staff. The new album "Enter The Gate" has been mixed by Anders "Theo" Theander at the Roastinghouse studio in Malmö, Sweden. Theo has also worked with bands like Lande/Allen project, Pain of Salvation, Last Tribe etc etc. The result so far is the most well-sounding and well-performed Narnia album to date. The album contains the most melodic and catchy songs since "Long Live the King" from the late 90's but in a brand new sound and approach. The lyrics are also the most uplifting we have ever done, which we think is necessary in a dark time. The lineup on "Enter the Gate" is stripped down to a powerful quartet:

    Andreas Johansson - Drums
    Christian Rivel - Vocals
    Andreas Olsson - Bass
Carl Johan Grimmark - Guitars and Keyboards Mats Levén (Malmsteen, Therion) is our guest on backing vocals on the entire album.

LIVE ALBUM - released 23rd of January - 2006. We are happy to announce that the concert we recorded at Owener Rocknacht in Germany 2003 recently was released on CD by MCM Music in Germany. http://www.mcm-music.de/ It was released on DVD as "At short notice....Live in Germany" in 2004 and has now been edited and remastered for this fresh CD-version. The title remains the same.

  • Century Media U.S. Office Celebrates 15-Year Anniversary

    Plans Catalog Reissues

Century Media Records’ U.S. office, relentlessly championing barrier-shattering music, celebrates its 15-year Anniversary in 2006. Quickly establishing itself as an incendiary musical force, Century Media brought its vision to North America in 1991 delivering its unique European style metal largely ignored by mainstream and underground labels. Tirelessly supporting a disappearing music scene, the label at once became a bastion for the artists creating extreme music and a haven for fans who found themselves disassociated , and thus Century Media generated a resurgence of the musical style.

To celebrate the anniversary, Century Media documents the past while pioneering the future. Commissioning a unique logo for its official releases and communications (as above) the label signifies the anniversary’s importance. In the coming months Century Media plans new studio efforts from label heavyweights such as Lacuna Coil and Shadows Fall, and also to reissue early albums from artists who have helped shape their current distinctive image like: Nevermore, Strapping Young Lad, The Gathering, Iced Earth, Moonspell and Stuck Mojo. These reissued CDs will contain reworked artwork, new liner notes with artist comments, and bonus tracks. Passionately expressing songs with images, Century Media artists have been creating videos from the label’s onset and two different DVD sets will be forthcoming chronicling these efforts. First off is Century Overload, 2-discs exploding with Century Media’s more recent talent delivering musically as well as visually. The discs include over 60 different recently released videos from our current roster including God Forbid, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil and more. Due to incessant demand Century Media has compiled their three out-of-print VHS collections, highlighting the company’s first dozen years, and combined them into their second DVD set the 2-DVD release entitled The Visual Experience. Finally, Century Media artists themselves have also contributed special recordings for a CD whose nature will be announced at a later date.

The flagship label of The Century Family, Century Media Records was founded in 1988. Its American branch opened three years later. With nine offices around the globe, the label employs more than 150 people worldwide. Featuring a rich catalog, the label's leading artists today include Shadows Fall, Lacuna Coil, God Forbid, Arch Enemy and Nevermore.

  • ABORTED New line-up announced, ready for EU tour with CRYPTOPSY, GRAVE!

Still freshly signed to Century Media Records and preparing for their European tour with label mates Cryptopsy and death metal cult act Grave, Belgian ABORTED had to deal with line-up changes at a time but fortunately none of them affected the band’s enthusiasm and touring/recording plans for 2006. The official statement of ABORTED below tells the whole story:

“A new year, a new beginning: On those note we start off the new year, wishing everyone including all our fans the best of luck with their plans and projects for 2006.

Unfortunately we have some unpleasant news to bring as well at this point. Due to personal issues that could not be resolved, ABORTED had to part ways with Tace & Free. A cummulation of smaller and bigger problems in the past so and so months has made it virtually impossible to keep cooperating together as a collective unit.

On a more positive note, we want to state that absolutely nobody out there should worry about shows getting cancelled and so on. The February tour with Cryptopsy, Grave, Dew-Scented and others will go on as planned! Stepping in are Seb (Genital Grinder/Balrog) on guitar, Olivia (ex-No Return/Balrog) on bass and Matty (Emeth) on guitar as well since Steph could not commit himself to this tour due to his lady sitting at home pregnant.

We have already rehearsed our setlist with the new line-up several times and things are working out perfectly. The motivation and "drive" is back in the band, something that was missing since a while ago, and it feels great to be jamming out the tunes with fresh blood incorporated. Throughout the years this band has been struggling with the line-up, having more than a couple of line-up changes. However, ABORTED has proven that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, and this time it should be no exception.

We also started working on the successor to "The Archaic Abattoir", which is set to be recorded later this year. Again we would like to thank all of those who have supported us, and we're glad you are still doing so. We will see many of you on tour in February!

  • SENTENCED Nominated for three (!) Finnish Metal Awards 2005!

Defunct and dearly, dearly missed Finnish metal act SENTENCED has been nominated not in one, not in two, but in three(!!!) categories of the Finnish Metal Awards 2005: “Album of the Year”, “Cover Art of the Year” and “Band of the Year”! The awards ceremony will be held on the Finnish Metal Expo on February 17, 2006.

“The Funeral Album”, the swansong of the masters of suicidal and melancholy-driven metal, had already reached gold-status in Finland for selling more than 15,000 copies over the counter. Also, SENTENCED had succeeded in topping the Finnish album charts upon the album’s release in May 2005 as well as making it up to No. 49 in the German Media Control chart. Rave media and fan reactions made this an unforgettable final release of a band that will be remembered!

With an intense and emotional show on Saturday, October 1st 2005 at Club Teatria in the band’s hometown Oulu, SENTENCED delivered an impressive “onstage-farewell” to their dedicated fans, which travelled to Oulu from various countries just to see the band say goodbye with a big bang!

SENTENCED’s very last show was filmed and recorded by Klaffi Productions from Oulu, Finland (who previously worked with the group on their "Ever-Frost" video) and will be released later in 2006 by the band’s label-home Century Media Records as a live DVD (tentatively titled "Buried Alive"). So, at least on DVD all fans of the band will be able to recall the magical spirit of SENTENCED “beyond the grave”…

Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings will release the two-CD set 'The Essential Judas Priest' on April 4, 2006. Judas Priest rocketed out of the tough steel town of Birmingham, England, more than three decades ago, and the 34 songs collected here form nothing less than the very backbone -- the pure essence -- of heavy metal. This uncompromising style of rock 'n' roll has earned a remarkably loyal fan base worldwide and no other band defines heavy metal better than Judas Priest.

The core of vocalist Rob Halford, lead guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing and bass guitarist Ian Hill worked with several drummers in the earlier years, with longtime current member Scott Travis rounding out the definitive lineup due to his incredible power and versatility. Judas Priest knows that what matters is the music, and its ability to blend unforgettable melodies with atomic-bomb power has never been equaled.

All the songs on 'The Essential Judas Priest' are the complete original studio album versions featuring the Halford/Tipton/Downing/Hill axis -- from the 1976 landmark 'Sad Wings Of Destiny' through the astonishing 2005 reunion platter 'Angel Of Retribution'.

The album is still being mixed and it due to be mastered Feb 14th at CuttingRoom in Stockholm by Björn Engelmann who has a very impressive background and has done everything from Rammstein to In Flames, Soilwork to Dimmu Borgir to Within Temptation.

Last but not least! A few more guests! Tony Könberg, a male singer/musician from Sundsvall, helped out with some choir parts. He has been part of several local bands for 20 years and is also a theater and musical performer. We are very pleased to announce that DAGOBA's upcoming album "What Hell is about" is awarded "Album of the Month" in the February issue of French metal mag HARD N HEAVY. Here's a quote from Charlélie Arnaud's review: "...simply the essential record from a band that is now fundamental. All nationalities included".
Don't say we had not warned you!!! DAGOGA “What Hell Is About” hits North America on Feb 20th!

As some of you may already know, MAYHEM have set "Ordo Ab Chao" as the title of their new album, due later this year. The band's upcoming CD will mark their first release with vocalist Attila Csihar (TORMENTOR, ABORYM) since their 1993 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". Attila rejoined MAYHEM in November 2004 as the replacement for departed singer Maniac.

In a recent interview with Decibel magazine, bassist Necrobutcher said about Attila's addition to the group: "It's the inspiration we all needed in MAYHEM. Attila is more committed to the band than almost all three of us together, and that inspires us too. The songs from the rehearsal place sound great. We still have the same aggressiveness. Everything you want from MAYHEM is there. We didn't give in to any kind of commercial thoughts in any way. It's a step from our last album again. If you have our discography, then you will see that every album is completely different, which has something to do with the fact that we usually take two or three or four years in between each recording. There's only so much you can do with a guitar and a drum kit and a bass. We want to show our fans and ourselves that MAYHEM will always be quality over quantity. I'm pleased to say that we have released 38 songs in 21 years. It's all those bootlegs that make the MAYHEM collection look so fucking huge."

  • Hardcore Marketing, Inc. client 7th Plague to sign with METAL BLADE Records

High School kids score Recording Deal with the top Metal Label in the world

Press welcome to signing next Wednesday February 8th

    February 3, 2006

Cleveland, OH – Today, Hardcore Marketing, Inc. (www.hardcoremarketing.com) announced news for their Management client 7th Plague (www.seventhplague.com):

7th Plague (www.seventhplague.com), have accepted an offer from Metal Blade Records (www.metalbladerecords.com) for a four (4) album recording contract. The band will be signing the record deal on Wednesday February 8th. The band is extending an invitation to all interested press to come to the signing.

7th Plague came into full form in July of 2004. All of the members are currently 17 years old, still in high school and have made huge advances with their music and talents in less than two years. In a short amount of time the band has performed with bands such as Chimaira, Machine Head, DevilDriver, The Haunted, Byzantine, All That Remains, The Agony Scene, 3 Inches of Blood, Children Of Tragedy, Still Remains, and others.

Recently, the band completed a demo with Hardcore Marketing in house-producer Don Debiase (Gatlin, APG). The band then had their Manager Neil Sheehan from HM, Inc. shop the demo to several record labels. In October of 2005 the band learned through Sheehan that Metal Blade was putting an offer in on the band. In January 2006 the band received initial copies of their negotiated contracts and accepted the mutually agreed upon terms. The band will sign the official agreement on Wednesday February 8th during a dinner at Westlake, Ohio’s Dave and Busters.

Metal Blade Records, located in Simi Valley, CA, has been setting the trend in heavy metal music without compromising it’s underground beginnings. Brian Slagel and Metal Blade Records have without a doubt had a major role in developing the American metal scene since day one and remains one of the most essential sources of metal music today. Since it’s beginnings in 1982, Metal Blade Records has unleashed some of the most influential and significant metal acts like Slayer, Metallica, Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, Six Feet Under, and ! King Diamond while developing new acts like As I Lay Dying, The Red Chord, Unearth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Goatwhore, Into The Moat, Cellador, and Phoenix Mourning just to name a few. There are few who can argue that Metal Blade is one of the leading independent metal labels around. Constantly growing and expanding, recently opening up Metal Blade Records Japan and the already significant Metal Blade Records Germany, and adding some of the best bands out there to it’s roster, it is obvious that Metal Blade Records is here to stay.

Hardcore Marketing, Inc. (www.hardcoremarketing.com) is an Artist Development and Concert Promotions firm located in Cleveland, Ohio. Working with nationally known concert venues and local, regional and national artists, Hardcore Marketing is emerging as a leading Music Business company in the NE Ohio area.

  • ONE DEAD THREE WOUNDED Sign To 1x1 Music

Re-Release Of Paint The Town To Include Two New Songs

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is known for many things: brotherly love, the Liberty Bell, cheesesteaks and soft pretzels… but anthemic hardcore/metal that inspires pileup sing-alongs and chaotic moshpits? Welcome to the new Philadelphia. A place where one emerging band is changing the very landscape of the city’s music scene and making no apologies about doing so.

On January 24th, 2006, One Dead Three Wounded will re-release their full-length debut album Paint The Town on New Jersey-based 1x1 Music. With an initial pressing on the independent Lovelost Records, the album only reached a limited audience. “We really wanted this record to be heard,” explains vocalist Tim Zahodski. “1x1 really gave us an opportunity.” The reissue of Paint The Town comes in a remixed and remastered digi-pack format with new artwork and will feature two new songs as bonus tracks: “Cardia” and “Soldiers.”

With a musical flavor that can best be described as hardcore with a Southern metal groove, One Dead Three Wounded has created an impressive foray into the current music scene with Paint The Town. “Cowboys Don’t Look Back” starts things off with a series of discordant blasts and immediately sets the tone for the whole album with a swaggering breakdown. “Burning Bridges Is So 1999…” is a fan favorite with a shout-along intro, followed by lightning fast metallic riffing. “I think that the song “Ghosts” is most representative of our mix of hardcore and metal,” says Zahodski. “Welcome Home Tragedy” brings a melodic balance to the album, while the intense metallic bite of “Eight Dollar Prom Dress” and the crushing breakdowns of “Farewell” and “My Life As A Typo” exhibit the band’s ability to master the key aspects of the metal/hardcore blend.

One Dead Three Wounded presents a crushing live performance. The band immediately gets the crowd moving, and it’s not uncommon for kids to rush the stage in an attempt to share vocal duties with Zahodski, especially in Philadelphia. “The fans react really well. You cannot recreate the feelings of a live hometown show.”

A track listing for Paint The Town comprises:

    1) Failed Transmission
    2) Cowboys Don't Look Back
    3) Burning Bridges Is So 1999…
    4) Regret
    5) Ghosts
    6) Welcome Home Tragedy
    7) Thank God For Pain Killers
    8) Eight Dollar Prom Dress
    9) Farewell
    10) My Life As A Typo
    New Bonus Tracks:
    11) Cardia
    12) Soldiers

New music from One Dead Three Wounded is coming in Spring 2006 with the new album Moving Units

  • 1349 keeps their Hellfire burning bright

Photographs of Norway's 1349 are featured on the recently relaunched site of renowned New York photographer Peter Beste. The band's latest album, Hellfire, is in stores now and is their fastest selling record to date. Recorded at Studio Studio in Nyhagen, Norway, Hellfire is 1349's third album. The video for lead track, "Sculpture of Flesh," was recently accepted by Headbangers Ball; air date to follow.

Decibel Magazine says of the album, "Hellfire roils and roars with something approaching bloodlust... every hellish note bears down on your psyche with the fierce jag of military-grade amphetamines." Metal Maniacs says, "an incineration event of the highest order."

Formed in 1997, 1349 features vocalist Ravn, guitarists Tjalve and Archaon, bassist Seidemann and drummer Frost. Their Candlelight debut, Liberation, was released in 2003. Returning in 2004, the band recorded Beyond the Apocalypse. With Hellfire, a priority for for Candlelight through 2006, 1349 are sure to open their already respectable fanbase.

Photographer Peter Beste spent 6 months in Norway photographing black metal musicians. This unique subculture in the context of Norway's magical landscape, mythological background, and strong sense of culture has been the focus of this on going documentary project. His first photography book Norwegian Black Metal was published in Japan in 2005.

The mixing of the sound has already started, and the clipping of the visual part is almost done. So, soon we'll be back with full tracklist, title, release date and stuff. We believe it will be out before the summer. We are also busy looking for cool clips and interesting things to put on the DVD as extra material. Karl Logan, lead guitarist of heavy metal powerhouse MANOWAR, was injured on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in a motorcycle accident. Touring plans are also expected to change as a result of this unfortunate turn of events. However, MANOWAR will soldier on. "We don't have any more information at this time," says DeMaio. "But nothing ever has, or ever will, stop MANOWAR."

  • "THE SILENT BURNING" (the debut anti-novel by ryan bartek)

“The Silent Burning” reads like a counter-culture manifesto, an underground guide to the rebellion. Paranoia, anger and self-preservation guide Bartek’s decrees, which he operates in the same clobbering, sarcastic vein of Kerouac as he does Chuck D. Bartek fearlessly confronts social norms, politics, diatribes, drugs, mental disorders, the corporate world and both tangible and indefinable injustice. Ryan Bartek rants to his heart’s content, and his heart is blackened like the underbelly of hell. (PIT MAGAZINE)

... One of the hardest-hitting, foul-mouthed freaks to ever take up the fine art of analyzing mankind...Wise beyond his years, Bartek identifies and attacks the "power elite" like a Satanic alchemist who has seen the future and cannot believe what has become of mankind... Bartek has developed a brutal style of analysis, buttressed by an in-depth knowledge about innumerable subjects, qualifying him to speak for his generation... An opus that would sent Freud to the asylum, if not straight to hell... (Lord Morder's THE SATANIC INQUISITION)

... Hands down, this is one of the most important readings of the Twenty-First Century. Practically functioning as a bi-polar survival guide for anyone that operates outside of the “norm”, and a must-have for all that find themselves active in the underground... This book will affect you. It will either open your eyes, or make you close them tighter. It’s ugly and it’s beautiful... I was incredibly moved by this work. A very brave piece on Bartek’s part, as it attacks the mass media and our society in such an honest and straight forward fashion, that it would be practically impossible for any major publishing house to push the book without cutting half of it completely out. (SOLUTION13.NET)

... One of the most interesting, and perhaps honest, books of the last decade… Nothing is off limits. Violence, anger, and malice all spew forth from Bartek’s pen as if without consequence (1340mag.com)

… "The Silent Burning" encompasses everything we as a society find obscene, distasteful and just plain wrong. A book written during the height of a manic-depressives worst battles, a book written at the lowest point of one mans bipolar syndrome, a book written during the recovery process all put in words and written as self-therapy. Obscure, intense, bipolar, tri-polar, insane, and forthright, to the point, fantasy, judgmental, realistic - you figure it out. "The Silent Burning" will either have you tossing it the trashcan inside of two pages or stir an inner emotion inside that cries for more. (tvtranzmission.com)

… Burning isn’t a linear narrative, but a hyper kinetic montage, leapfrogging genres, subjects, styles, and moods with seemingly reckless abandon. One minute hallucinatory and dreamlike, the next imbued with the stark realism of a newspaper editorial; one minute isolated and aloof, the next uncomfortably personal. Bartek’s voice isn’t gentle, easy or subtle. “The Silent Burning” is a postmodern polemic, a schizophrenic society and an hyper charged imagination reflected in a funhouse mirror, populated by a narrator looking for something approaching understanding, but finding a head-on-collision with the world instead. You’re left with blood on the floor and screams ringing in your ears- but also a great deal of truth, if you can stand to look at it. (Jam Rag)

A misanthropik monument of hatred, pain and disgust. (STALAGGH)

  • LACUNA COIL will embark on a massive six-week U.S. tour this March direct support to ROB ZOMBIE. This trek, which kicks off in mid-March and runs through early May, will be the group's first stateside run in support of their highly anticipated new album, "Karmacode", which is set for an April 4 release. It will also be the first time the band has played in the U.S. since their successful Ozzfest 2004 run.

Cristina Scabbia (vocals) describes her excitement over the upcoming tour: "Well, I can't even count the times I said, 'Wow, we're so excited about this upcoming tour!' I mean we all know how much Rob influenced the scene and how great his live shows are. We definitely can't wait to share the stage with him and his band. I'm sure it'll be a great experience. It'll be the perfect occasion for us to present the new songs from 'Karmacode' to the fans. This new album is killer and you won't believe your ears. You guys never let us down and we can't wait to see you all. It's been a long time and LACUNA COIL is more than ready to come back!"

Scabbia also graces the cover of this month's Revolver magazine's "Hottest Women In Metal" issue and the inaugural issue of Virus magazine while Alternative Press named "Karmacode" as "One of the most anticipated releases of 2006." Be sure to pick up all three issues on stands now.

A video for the track was shot in Los Angeles by Fort Awesome, a brand-new directorial duo whose individual credits include QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, LINKIN PARK, DISTURBED, CHEVELLE and more. Look for it to make its Fuse and MTV2 debut in mid-March.

LACUNA COIL initially left their mark on the hard rock scene in 2004 with their acclaimed album, "Comalies", which opened several opportunities for them that were previously thought unattainable for an Italian band, such as two highly successful commercial radio campaigns alongside a breakthrough Ozzfest appearance resulting in over 500,000 copies sold worldwide with a quarter of a million in the U.S. alone.

  • As BLABBERMOUTH.NET exclusively reported on July 6, 2005, Roadrunner Records has now officially announced the signing of Massachusetts-based five-piece SHADOWS FALL for all territories excluding the U.S.

Mark Palmer, M.D. of Roadrunner Records U.K. stated: "SHADOWS FALL have been one of the standard-bearers for quality American metal for the past 4 years and it's an honor to have them as part of the Roadrunner family."

Likewise, SHADOWS FALL frontman Brian Fair was equally enthused by their new home. Speaking from Massachusetts, where the band are working on songs for their fifth studio album, he commented, "All of us in SHADOWS FALL are very excited to begin a working relationship with Roadrunner Records! The label has always represented the multiple sounds and styles of the metal genre and they have never been afraid to take a chance and support bands they believed in. From the roots of extreme metal with OBITUARY, DEICIDE and EXHORDER to the breakout success of bands like SLIPKNOT and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, Roadrunner has always been at the fore-front of the evolution of metal. We feel it will be a perfect fit to help spread the word about SHADOWS FALL around the globe. The time has come for total world domination."

After forming in 1996, SHADOWS FALL have developed in to one of the metal scene's key players, both live and on CD. With four increasingly proficient albums under their belt, culminating in the 2004 release of "The War Within", the band have picked up numerous accolades from global rock publications and media. Underlining that, the band were honoured in this year's 48th annual Grammy Awards in the U.S., with a nomination alongside metal heavyweights like SLIPKNOT, MINISTRY and RAMMSTEIN, for their album track, "What Drives The Weak".

SHADOWS FALL spent much of 2004 on the road, racking up major dates across the U.S. on Ozzfest, in the U.K. at the Download Festival and in Germany at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park as well as a string of arena shows with SLIPKNOT and LAMB OF GOD. They are now back home working on the follow-up to "The War Within" which is expected to see the light of day in early 2007 through Roadrunner Records in Europe and Atlantic in the U.S.
